ASA Chicago – Association of Subcontractors & Affiliates, a local trade association representing commercial subcontractors of various construction trades for nearly 60 years, looks to return to popular event venue Venuti’s Ristorante & Banquets (Addison, IL) for the highly anticipated Meet the GCs event on Tuesday, October 6.

This event, spearheaded by ASA Chicago’s Business Opportunities Committee (led by Chairwoman, Kim Robinson of Pella Windows & Doors) is one of the most highly anticipated gatherings of commercial construction professionals in the Chicagoland area. ASA Chicago is proud to feature the event in its long-time home venue, Venuti’s where participants will occupy their total banquet space and meet general contractor estimators, project managers, and C-suite representatives from 40+ exhibiting GC firms, all in one room.

Last year’s event saw its third event theme: Breast cancer awareness, where guests donned their “pinkest” attire and supported A Silver Lining Foundation, a local Chicagoland charity who provides breast cancer screening and services for those in need. After a grand success in 2025 with attendance soaring to nearly 700 guests, ASA Chicago is gearing up for its 2026 Meet the GCs event, featuring a country-western theme. Guests are encouraged to dust off their boots and hightail it over to asachicago.org to register and wrangle in some new contacts and leads!

Vincent E. Vacala, Vice President of Tyler Lane Construction Inc. and ASA Chicago General Contractor Council member since 2011 is looking forward to this year’s Meet the GCs event and shares the following testimonial as Tyler Lane nears its seventeenth year in participation:

“The ASA Chicago Meet the GCs night is the main industry event for the Fall season. Here you can see new faces, and network with the more seasoned members of the organization. For the GC exhibitors, it’s a great way to showcase your company, but also keep the relationships going with some of the best contractors in the Chicagoland area. It’s the perfect time to update your bidders list for the upcoming season.”

Meet the GCs is designed to help Chicago-area construction professionals strengthen relationships before the next bidding season.

Estimators, project managers, and Executives of the general contractors provide subcontractors with information about their companies and, most importantly, how to get on their bid lists. The event’s member sponsors along with ASA Chicago’s Board of Directors are among those who will have first access to the GCs during the VIP hour preceding the official event start time of 6:00 PM when buffet dinner, beverages, and quality networking will commence. Sponsors include the Rodeo Royalty Event Sponsor: Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council; our Gold level sponsors: Alpine Demolition Services LLC, American Community Bank & Trust, Beverly Companies, Independent Recycling Services Inc., Prime Scaffold, and Stone Mountain Access Systems; Silver level sponsors: All American Recycling, Hard Rock Concrete Cutters Inc., and McCullough Kubota; and Bronze level sponsors: CNC Foundations, MGFS, and Thorne Associates, Inc. The event will also feature a Cigar Bar on the venue’s outdoor patio, complimentary for attendees and generously provided by ASA Chicago member: Balanced Environments, Inc.

The ASA Chicago General Contractor Council (GC Council) was launched in 1999 with the intention to improve communication and create a thriving partnership to benefit ASA Chicago members and the industry at large. Recognizing the importance of subcontractors, the mission of ASA Chicago’s GC Council is to facilitate communication, cooperation, understanding, and improved relationships between GCs and subcontractors by providing access, education, and exchange of information based on common goals and interests. This annual affair is a key opportunity to facilitate this dynamic for ASA Chicago members and prospects looking to network, shake hands with individuals who they may have only corresponded with via e-mail, fill their pipelines and strengthen relationships.

While focused on featuring General Contractors, the event attracts commercial subcontractors of various trades, suppliers, vendors, professional service providers, and industry leaders from the Chicagoland construction community to form an excellent opportunity for quality business networking. If you do business in the Chicagoland commercial construction industry, this is a must-attend event. ASA Chicago members are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to keep an eye out at ASA’s September events… If you find a “lucky” duck tucked away, you automatically win a pair of tickets to Meet the GCs!

Yee haw!
