FAQ - Getting Started

Browser Requirements
Before using DataBid we recommend you use the most current version for your internet browser. You may do this by checking settings in your browser or you may click the link to ensure you are up to date.

Java Requirements
It is unlikely you will need to update your Java, however if you are experiencing issues after updating your browser, you may need to install Java or update to a more current version.

To see if your Java is up to date: Click Here

(Be aware to deselect the adding Yahoo as your new default search provider)


Printing Projects
Make sure you can print and give exception to DataBid Pop-Ups in either: Chrome, Firefox, Explorer

If you are having issues opening documents, or printing projects in DataBid, you may need to update your Adobe PDF viewer : Click Here

(Be aware to deselect the McAffee Security Scan Plus)

 

FAQ - Troubleshooting

Blank Pages
If you are unable to see sections of our website, or areas appear to be cutoff, this can be caused by a setting in Internet Explorer. If you are not using Internet Explorer, please clear your cache log out of DataBid and try logging back in again once you are done.

To update compatibility view in Internet Explorer please do the following:

Go to: Tools
Click on Compatibility View Settings
Deselect: Display all Sites in Compatibility View
Click: Close


Errors and Time Outs
Check that your internet is working and connected.

Check your internet speed: click here

Log Out of DataBid

Clear Cache and Try Logging Back Into DataBid

Not Receiving Emails
Not Getting DataBid Emails?

Below are instructions for whitelisting your DataBid notifications in the various email providers
Instructions:

Microsoft Outlook

Right-click the message of the sender you want to whitelist.
In 2003/2007:
1. From the drop-down list, select Junk E-mail.
2. Select Add Sender to Safe Senders List.
3. Click OK.

In 2008/2009:
1. From the drop-down list, select Junk.
2. Select Never Block Sender.
3. If prompted to confirm, click OK.

In 2010/2013:
Select the Home tab.
1. In the Delete group, click the Junk button.
2. From the drop-down list, select Junk E-mail Options….
3. Select the Safe Senders tab.

For each DataBid email you want to Whitelist: (updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com)
1. Click the Add… button.
2. In the Enter an E-mail Address (updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com) or (databid.com) to the lis text box.
3. Click OK.
4. If not already checked, place a check in the Also Trust E-mail from My Contacts check box.
5. Click OK.
In 2003/2007, click OK.

Hotmail

To whitelist our address with Hotmail you will need to Add Updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com to your Hotmail Safe List. Here’s how:

1. First, if you find email from us in your Hotmail junk folder, open the email and click “Not Junk”
2. Next, check to see if the email address updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com is on your Blocked Senders list. If you find updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com,info@databid.com, sales@databid.com on your Hotmail Blocked Senders list, select it and click on the “Remove” button.
3. Next, open your mailbox and click “Options” in the upper right hand corner
4. At the top of the page, click on the “Junk E-mail Protection” link
5. Next, click on “Safe List”, which is down near the bottom
6. Copy and paste updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.comwhere it says “Type an address or domain”
7. Click the “Add” button

Gmail

1. First, if you find email from us in your Gmail spam folder, select our email and click the “Not Spam” button
2. Next, open an email that you have received from us
3. Click on the little down-pointing-triangle-arrow next to “Reply”:
4. Click “Add DataBid.com to Contacts list”

Apple Mail for OS X

1. First, if email from updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.comends up in your junk folder, highlight or open it and click “Not Junk” at the top of your screen.
2. Then: Go to Mail > Preferences from your Mail menu
3. Go to the Rules tab
4. Select Add Rule
5. Give this rule a name such as “DataBid.com”
6. Create a rule that says “If any of the following conditions are met: ‘From’ ‘Contains’” and then paste in “updates@databid.com,alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com”
7. From the actions, select ‘Move message’ to mailbox ‘Inbox’.
8. Click “OK”

BlackBerry

1. Scroll up to the message header
2. Get to the field where their name is listed, click the Berry button and then click Show Address
3. Select and copy that updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com to the clipboard
4. Go into Address Book and find the user
5. Select Save
6. Click to edit it, and then click the Berry button to add another email address
7. Paste it in and click Save

Mozilla Thunderbird

1. Click the Address Book button
2. Make sure the Personal Address Book is highlighted
3. Click the New Card button. This will launch a New Card window that has 3 tabs: Contact, Address and Other
4. Under the Contact tab, copy and paste the “From” address, updates@databid.com, alerts@databid.com, customercare@databid.com, info@databid.com, sales@databid.com into the email dialogue box
5. Click OK

 


Unable to Share Projects

If you are unable to send or share projects via DataBid, you may click the print project button, save locally as a PDF and send in your own email client. (see printing projects for help)

If you have tried sending your project to a few different email addresses at different domains or companies you may want to try changing your user login email address.
